Our Policies
At Lazzzypaws, we very much care about the health, safety, care, and comfort of your pet are our primary concerns and purpose. We strive to offer a quality professional service for all clients and their pets; we must work together.
Please read before any service of your pet's appointment today. You agree to the following salon policies, procedures, terms, and conditions by booking and attending your appointment.
1
EMERGENCIES
If your dog/cat is unwell and we cannot get in contact with you we will take your pet to our vet clinic and you will be liable for all expenses incurred by the veterinarian unless stated that the Lazzzypaws will assume financial responsibility.
2
CANCELLATION / NO-SHOW POLICY
The fur babies don't use mobile devices, as the pet owner's sole responsibility is to remember their appointment. Our salon will send a friendly booking reminder in advance. A minimum of 72 hours' notice is required to cancel an appointment. The salon is run by appointment, if you are more than 15 minutes late this impacts the entire day. Your deposit will not be refunded if you don't show up or cancellations are made within 72 hours of your booking, and you will be charged with a mandatory payment of 50% of your pet's scheduled service given, and future bookings may not be made.
It is unfortunate to have to implement these policies, but due to the increasing amount of unconfirmed, no-shows and late cancellations of appointments, we have been left with no alternative.
3
MATTED PET
If your pet’s coat is pelted or heavily matted and as a result your pet needs de-matting or shaving a fee of ($20/per 15 minute intervals) will be applied to your groom with a minimum of $20 charged. This is a very delicate process and must be done carefully and cautiously to ensure your pets skin is not damaged in the process. Skin irritation or bruising after the groom may appear if the pet is severely matted. Pre-existing skin conditions may be exposed after the shaving off of the heavy matts.
4
LATE POLICY
If you’re going to be later than 15 minutes for your appointment please notify us. If we are not notified of you being more than 15 minutes late we will consider this a no show and the no show policy will be enacted or a late fee of $30 will be added to your pet’s appointment cost.
5
DAY CARE
Please understand that our salon has limited space, so as soon as your dog/cat has completed its grooming, we will message you. We require you to pick up your pet within 1 hour of this message being sent.
Please let us know if you need to take longer than 1 hour, and you will be charged a daycare fee of $10 hourly, added to the groom's cost. Please note each dog/cat's daycare is a maximum of 4 hours.
6
RE-BOOK
We do not make bookings further out than 8 weeks or 60 days between appointments to minimize the risk of your pet stressing during their appointment or becoming matted. Any appointments made after these times specified above will incur a 20% surcharge for the whole appointment.
7
ADDITIONAL HANDLING PET
If extra time is required to groom your pet due to it becoming aggressive or if any other difficulties are encountered which cause the groom's time to be extended a special handling fee will be added to your pet’s groom. These fees range from $15 - $30 and will be charged at the groomer’s discretion. On a case-by-case basis, it may be decided by the groomer that our salon is not the best fit for a particular pet i.e. the pet may require a quieter salon, mobile grooming, etc. If this is the case the pet will be released from our care and discussions for an alternative solution will be undertaken.
8
ACCIDENT
There is always a risk of an accident occurring in the salon as there is use of sharp grooming tools ie. nicks, scratches, etc. We exercise extreme caution during the grooming process and our professional staff are trained to use these tools in a safe manner. We make every effort to ensure your pet feels comfortable and is groomed safely during the grooming process but unfortunately sometimes situations are out of our control. If an accident was to occur during the grooming process we may request you to take measures to seek veterinary treatment at the clients expense. If an accident was to occur from a result of the extreme cases of poor coat condition and matting the client will be liable for any vet costs if necessary.
9
SOFT MUZZLE
You are required to inform us prior to grooming if your dog/cat has snapped at any groomers in the past so that we are prepared to avoid any incidents which may put our groomers at risk of injury. If your pet has snapped at a groomer in the past a soft muzzle may be used for the well-being of your pet and the groomer.
10
CEASE OF SERVICE
Please understand that all humans and animals have bad days. If we find that your pet is not in the best of moods on their appointment day and if your dog/cat becomes aggressive or too stressed, or if there are any health concerns, we may not be able to complete the grooming. A dog/Cat that is uncontrollable will be sent home and charged for the amount of grooming that has been accomplished. It is not fair or acceptable to force your pet to accept the grooming session.
11
Recurring Appointment Times
All clients are required to select a recurring appointment of 4-8 weeks.
We will advise you on the pet grooming cycle according to your pet's condition when you pick them up, and you must let your pet return to each appointment on time. All of our clients are booked in advance and have a fixed cycle. Once you miss the appointment, we cannot guarantee to help you re-arrange the booking because it is very likely that other clients have replaced your original booking. You don't have to worry too much because sometimes we adjust the pet's grooming needs according to your pet's condition. In any case, we will keep in touch with the owner to ensure the pet's best interests.
12
BITE
If in the unfortunate case, a groomer is bitten by a dog/cat, the owner will be liable for the cost to the groom and any medical fees incurred by the groomer as a result of that pet bite. This also includes any loss of income incurred by the groomer.
13
PHOTOS AND DIGITAL MEDIA
We may be required to take photos as grooming evidence and sometimes use the images for our social media profiles. If you do not wish to have pictures of your pet posted online or used in media advertising, please alert us at the time, and we won’t post your pet in any posts or advertising campaigns
14
FLEA / TICK
Sanitization and a bug-free environment are crucial for our environment for the well-being of all our clients' dogs/cats. If your dog/cat has fleas, a $150 fee will be charged for the salon clean-up and flea removal to prevent contamination of other clients' pets.
The flea treatment we use only temporarily relieves the dogs/cats of fleas and does not cure the fleas. After your pet's grooming, you will be requested to take your pet to a vet of your choosing.
15
MEDICAL CONDITIONS / SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
We must be informed by the clients beforehand if pets have any medical conditions or special requirements.
LAZZZYPAWS RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DECLINE ANY APPOINTMENTS AT OUR DISCRETION.
16
FULLY VACCINES
Your dog/cat is required to be up to date with their immunizations and vaccine shots and proof of their veterinary record will be requested upon arrival.
17
Double-coated breeds
(Shave or not to shave)
For "double-coated" breeds: Huskies, Golden Retrievers, Pomeranians, German Shepherds, French Bulldogs, Shiba Inus, most terriers, and dogs with fluffy coats all have double coats. Shaving their fur disrupts their natural temperature regulation and skin protection functions. Unless there are severe mats or medical needs, we strongly advise against doing so. Shaving double-coated breeds can cause permanent damage, leading to hair loss, potential skin cancers, and alopecia, while increasing the risk of heatstroke. For dogs with double coats, the best way to keep them cool in summer is through regular baths, grooming, maintaining cool and dry indoor temperatures, and ensuring they stay hydrated. Trimming their coat appropriately is sufficient.
